The creator of Bitcoin, who hides himself under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, still remains one of the biggest mysteries in the cryptocurrency world. He left his last message to the community 11 years ago, preferring to stay in the shadows. However, just like Giordano Bruno, he also challenged the dogma supported by the government and imposed by violence. The things described in this article may seem controversial, but be aware that these are just opinions.
Bitcoin’s invention comes after decades of hard work, government persecution, and the relentless persistence of cypherpunks. Satoshi had had the humility to sit on the shoulders of the cypherpunk giants and use many existing primary design parameters to help create the first cryptocurrency. The aspirations of Satoshi and the cypherpunks remind us of other valiant scientists, astronomers, who set out to prove that the sun was the center of the universe through their innovative theories, disrupting the worldview of their time.
By the 1600s, the idea that the Earth was at the center of the universe was widely accepted, commissioned by the Church, and tolerated by the Bible. An Italian Dominican monk Giordano Bruno thought this idea was terrible and believed that the sun was the center of the universe. He went against what the Roman Catholic Church and the Bible considered to be the absolute truth and he was burned at the stake for his belief.
Astronomer Nicolas Copernicus, who also postulated and believed that the sun was the center of the Earth, was stigmatized. Copernicus was persecuted by the Church, and his theories proving that the sun was the center of the universe were banned. Copernicus did not agree with the idea of the Church as did Giordano.
Finally, Galileo Galileo studied the works of Copernicus. conceiving his theories which only confirmed that of his predecessor. These theories became reality with the advent of the telescope, which made it possible to study the heavens more closely. Galileo was also persecuted for his writings which contradicted the beliefs of the Church and their sacred manuscript, the Bible.
Giordano, Copernicus, and Galileo theorized and studied the science of astronomy for centuries and proved the Church wrong. These men refuted ideas the Church had held onto for generations, and they were harassed or killed for their views. It just goes to show how powerful ideas can be!
The hero of the modern era
Money is also an idea, and for thousands of years the most powerful entities in the world, central banks or great powers, established laws that stated that money was and would remain the center of their universe.
The state of affairs has not changed for a long time, but Satoshi has turned the economic world upside down. He denied this idea, having discovered that money was not and should not be the center of the universe of a centralized authority. Rather, using the first primary design parameters of cryptocurrency, computing, engineering, social engineering, Satoshi discovered that money was a decentralized necessity around which human values revolved.
The bitcoiners are often toxic when it comes to protecting others from the ideas of shitcoins, false and erroneous. The toxicity of bitcoin enthusiasts stems from the simple fact that they truly believe and understand that the first cryptocurrency is the only reliable and perpetual decentralized money. This situation is very similar to that of Giordano Bruno categorically believing that the sun was the center of the universe. For the Roman Catholic Church, Giordano was toxic and he died for his ideas. Satoshi created Bitcoin, then disappeared for a reason: He knew that when he created Bitcoin, it would result in massive persecution, imprisonment, and possibly even his death. If you don’t think so, try taking control of money away from the elites and you’ll see what happens to you!
The aforementioned historical parallels show how important it is to fight for new ideas and stand up for what you believe, no matter what central authorities impose on you or make you believe.
