HIGH MOBILITY, a developer platform, has announced a partnership with the IOTA Foundation to harness the power of blockchain technology.
The IOTA Foundation has entered into a partnership with HIGH MOBILITY, so that developers in its community can create new types of applications for connected cars based on the IOTA blockchain, which is already collaborating with Sopra Steria.
The combined power of DLT and API
This will simplify the process of developing applications around DLT (Digital Ledger Technologies), using the standardized API dedicated to connected cars from HIGH MOBILITY.
This partnership will indeed make it possible to considerably simplify the application development process which combines the two technologies: IOTA’s open source Blockchain technology and the HIGH MOBILITY API.
With this in mind, the collaboration between these two entities will first translate into the integration of IOTA content, plans and tutorials into the HIGH MOBILITY development platform.
Bridging the gap between developers and automakers
HIGH MOBILITY aims to solve one of the main challenges for car manufacturers and developers of applications for connected cars.
It is indeed a question of allowing car manufacturers to collaborate simultaneously with a myriad of developers.
Founded in Berlin, IOTA has developed a distributed ledger architecture (DLT), which tends towards the logic of private blockchains. It provides efforts for a standardized and open (open source) approach. Its DLT architecture is distinguished by the fact that there are no associated transaction fees.
Alisa Maas, Head of Mobility and Automotive at the IOTA Foundation, explains that she is “confident that closing the gap between business and developers and implementing easy-to-use, scalable tools will solve major adoption challenges“.
A first project
The first step is the launch of an intelligent loading master plan in the brand new workspace of the IOTA Foundation.
In the latter, developers will be able to create and test applications using the standardized connected car API from HIGH MOBILITY on the IOTA platform.
The first project of the collaboration is to develop a master plan for “smart charging”.
Kevin Valdek, CTO OF HIGH MOBILITY, full of praise on the many possibilities offered by the networking of these technologies and the community of developers: ” With the IOTA blockchain and our team’s vision for future mobility, we will see this be applied by many new services. There are many types of apps that can be activated with IOTA technology and vehicle data. ”
The IOTA Foundation has established other working groups such as mobility, digital health, FinTech, digital identity, supply chain and cryptography.
