Very soon, smartphones, cars and speakers will no longer be the only devices with a radar system. New devices will join their ranks. According to 9to5Google, Google, Ford and other partners will all work together with Ripple to create a new little radar for other devices.
A new radar to carry out several actions
In a world where technology evolves and where changes occur in the habits of each other, it is essential to create new software, while respecting the privacy of users. It is for this purpose that Google, Ford and other companies have decided to work together with Ripple in order to launch small radars. They can be used in latest generation devices.
The solution, the beginnings of which are developed by the Consumer Technology Association, will allow all equipment manufacturers to integrate radars into their accessories. With this tool, it will be possible to carry out actions, including contactless payments.
In addition, users will have functionalities for health monitoring and building occupancy detection. Finally, they will have the opportunity to regularly monitor their heart rate and analyze the improvements in their body due to the physical activities they perform.
Adding features to Ripple’s radar
Currently, partner companies have given little information on the practical features of the new radar they want to launch. Nevertheless, they communicated small information which makes it possible to glimpse the advantages which the new radar will present.
On GitHub where information on the new program of partner companies is available, we learn that the focus will be mainly on the interoperability of speed cameras. Developers will add specific use cases by integrating new extensions to their tool. For its part, Ripple has announced that it will only make a real contribution on later versions, and not on early versions.
The involvement of Google and Ford in the project actually comes as no surprise to anyone. Indeed, the two companies had already used radars in products that they created. These include the Nest Hub and Ford’s Co-Pilot360 driver assistance system. Obviously, if the investments are made on both sides and the companies take the project to heart as they presently give the impression, it is obvious that the radar that will be launched will be highly efficient.
Google, Ford and other companies have announced that they will work with Ripple to create a radar that will be fitted to the latest generation devices. However, much is still unknown about the project. For example, no one knows the date of completion and launch.
