Blockchain experts, security engineers and embedded developers are benefiting from the strongest growth in demand expressed by recruiters, reports Hired.
Hired’s platform for bringing together companies and technical profiles provides an overview of the most sought-after software engineers. His report is centered on 13 metropolises around the world. It is the result of an analysis of proprietary data from 170,000 interview proposals and job offers issued via the platform in 2018.
The results of a survey of 700 software engineers complete the package. Also, experts in blockchain, the decentralized transaction management technology, are benefiting from the strongest growth in demand, according to Hired.
Security engineers and embedded software specialists arrive next.
Blockchain engineers at the top
The top 9 areas of expertise showing the strongest growth bear witness to this:
1. Blockchain engineer (+ 517% employer requests in one year)
2. Safety (+ 132%)
3. Embedded (+ 76%)
4. Data (+ 38%)
5. Backend (+ 33%)
6. Machine Learning (+ 27%)
7. Mobile (+ 15%)
8. Full stack (+ 7%)
9. Frontend (+ 4%)
The strong demand for technical profiles is driving wages upwards, especially in the United States, from New York to Silicon Valley. An example: in the Bay of San Francisco (California) the average annual remuneration of a blockchain engineer reaches 155,000 dollars, against 89,000 dollars in London and 67,000 dollars (58 K €) in Paris.
