In Thailand, Merkle Capital, an asset management firm, became the first to receive approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch digital asset investment funds. It is a small step for the company, but a giant step for the sector!
The ambitions of Merkle Capital
Merkle Capital is a company that aims to offer services in line with the rules set by the authorities. It is in this context that, for the launch of its investment fund in cryptocurrencies, it filed an application with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The company’s request has been favorably received by the regulator since the latter has granted it an authorization. From now on, the company plans to take full advantage of it. Indeed, she has revealed that she will be launching blockchain and metaverse-based funds by the end of the month. Concretely, it plans to put two cryptocurrency investment funds on the market.
Akradej Diawpanich, founder and managing director of Cryptomind Group Holdings, a parent company of Merkle Capital, said obtaining a digital asset fund manager license from the SEC is an important step in expanding the range of products and services it offers to customers in the Thai digital asset industry.
He also said that Cryptomind Group aims to become a one-stop solution provider for trading of cryptocurrencies in Thailand by educating the community through media and events, as well as providing advice on trading for individuals and businesses to help Thais invest safely and confidently in digital assets.
Investors will no longer have to worry
Kannithi Tongtanagoon, chief investment officer of Merkle Capital, said the license allows Merkle clients to invest in growing trends such as blockchain technology, Web 3.0 and the metaverse. In other words, they will be able to afford the opportunity to make investments in the most recent and promising fields.
The launch of new funds is not the only project on which Merkle Capital is focusing. She also plans to continue focusing on bitcoin (BTC). In fact, the company sees it as “digital gold” for investors.
Finally, Merkle Capital will also make investments in digital asset ecosystem infrastructure as well as in other electronic currencies and other projects such as NFTs. “We will be the custodian, managing digital assets for all clients. Investors won’t have to worry about trading or holding digital assets on their own”, Underlined Mr. Kannithi. “Investors can rest assured that their assets are being held using the highest standards, while they expect satisfactory returns from digital assets.“
Merkle Capital has officially obtained a license to establish cryptocurrency investment funds and other projects in the sector. It is the first company in Thailand to obtain the precious document.
